West Bloomfield made quick work of Walled Lake Western on Wednesday, Nov. 6, winning its Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1 District 8 volleyball semifinal 3-0 at West Bloomfield.
The Lakers won 25-15, 25-12, and 25-11 to advance to Friday’s district final against Walled Lake Central. Walled Lake Central beat White Lake Lakeland 3-0 in its semifinal on Wednesday. West Bloomfield will be
looking for its first district championship since 1991.
West Bloomfield jumped out to quick leads (4-0, 9-0, and 4-0) in each set and never trailed in the match.
“I’m pretty pleased we were able to play a clean game and work out any kinks we needed to work out before we go to (the district final) Friday,” West Bloomfield coach Lauren DeLuyck-Forbes told reporters. “I really liked seeing them have fun and have a relaxed first district set.”
