Brighton Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy players celebrate after winning a point against Ypsilanti Arbor Preparatory on Wednesday.

   Division 3 No. 6-ranked Brighton Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy had little trouble sweeping Ypsilanti Arbor Preparatory 3-0 in its Michigan High School Athletic Association District 87 volleyball semifinal on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Whitmore Lake.

   Stockwell (34-5-1) won the match 25-5, 25-7, and 25-11.

   Senior Paige Gallentine led the Sentinels with 16 kills. Junior Jenna Vaske had eight kills and five service aces. Junior Morgan Doersch had five kills. Senior Carolina Curcuru had six service aces and sophomore

 

 

Shelby Urquhart finished with 23 assists.

   Stockwell advances to the district final today (Thursday, Nov. 8) against host Whitmore Lake.

   Whitmore Lake beat Ann Arbor Greenhills 3-1 in the other semifinal on Wednesday.

   The District 87 champion advances to the Region 22 tournament where they will face the District 88 champion. Stockwell reached the regional final last season, falling to Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central.
