Royal Oak Shrine Catholic players pose with their MHSAA district championship trophy on Thursday.

   Royal Oak Shrine Catholic swept Catholic High School League rival Madison Heights Bishop Foley 3-0 to win the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 3, District 90 volleyball championship on Thursday, Nov. 4, at Bishop Foley.

   Shrine won 25-18, 25-22, and 25-15.

   Norah Tisko had nine digs, 11 service wins with three aces, Elena

 

Gallagher had 10 service wins and six digs. Kathryn Mulcahy had seven kills and six digs. Margaret Jones totaled 15 kills, eight service wins, six digs, and two blocks. Georgia True had 32 assists, nine service wins, and four digs. Elena LaChance had 11 service wins and five kills

   Shrine beat Madison Heights Madison 3-0 and Foley beat Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett 3-0 in the semifinals on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

   Shrine advances to the Region 23 semifinals on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Memphis. Shrine will face the winner of today’s District 91 championship between Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest and New Haven.
