Detroit Renaissance players celebrate after winning a point against Detroit Collegiate Preparatory at Northwestern on Thursday.

   Detroit Public School League volleyball powerhouse Detroit Renaissance swept Detroit Collegiate Preparatory at Northwestern 3-0 on Thursday, Sept. 26, at Renaissance.

   Renaissance won 25-3, 25-4, and 25-12 to improve to 20-4-1 overall and 4-0 in the PSL.

   Sophomore Mackenzie Jarvis served the Phoenix to a quick 11-0 lead in

 

the first set and senior Isis King won the final 12 points on the service line to close out the set. Renaissance’s starters only played the first set.

   Renaissance travels to Detroit Western International on Monday, Sept. 30.

   The PSL playoffs begin Thursday, Oct. 17 with the championship game on Thursday, Oct. 24.
