Division 2 No. 1-ranked Pontiac Notre Dame Preparatory remained undefeated with a convincing 3-0 victory over Utica on Thursday, Sept. 23, at Notre Dame.

   The Irish won 25-12, 25-14, 25-14. The Irish junior varsity and freshman teams also netted wins.

   Elyssa Wallace served up nine points including six aces. Hanna Rutila contributed six serve receptions and four digs.

   Leah Greif had five points and six assists.  Kendall Smith had eight points, four aces, and five assists, a pair of aces, 10 receptions and six digs.

   Sophia Sudzina lead the attack with nine kills and five digs, Grace Wenaas contributed seven kills, two blocks, five points and two aces. Sara Nouhan added five kills.

   Josie Bloom and Aly Berent were strong in the back courts with Bloom collecting 11 receptions and eight digs while scoring six points and Berent nearly identical with 10 receptions, six digs and five points including a pair of aces.

   On Saturday, Sept. 18, Notre Dame went 3-0 at Farmington Hills

Mercy’s Power Series at Schoolcraft College, defeating Birmingham Seaholm, Rochester and Lake Orion in straight sets.

   The Irish started the day with at 25-21, 25-16 victories over Seaholm. Greif dished out 14 assists , six points and two aces.  Aly Borellis had 14 assists, five points, two aces and nine kills.  Sudzina lead the Irish with 12 kills.  Bloom had nine digs and 14 serve receptions while Berent had eight digs, five points and an ace.

   Notre Dame beat Rochester 25-12, 25-13. Greif had six points, an ace, three digs, and eight assists.  Borellis had four kills, four digs and 10 assists.  Nouhan chipped in five kills while Sudzina had eight kills, three points, and two aces.  Bloom served up five points including three aces and lead the Irish defense with nine digs while Berent had 13 points with eight aces.

   In the final game Saturday, Notre Dame beat rival Lake Orion, 25-11, 25-15. Sudzina ended the day with eight kills and three points with two aces.  Nouhan added four kills and Borellis matched those four kills and dished out 10 assists.  Berent had 14 serve receptions, eight points and two aces while Bloom added eight points and four aces.

   Notre Dame travels to Warren Regina on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
