   Perennial powerhouse Pontiac Notre Dame Preparatory improved to 7-1 on the young season with victories over Macomb L’Anse Creuse and Bloomfield Hills in a double dual meet Monday, Sept. 14, at Notre Dame.

   Notre Dame swept L’Anse Creuse North 3-0 in the opener, then beat Bloomfield Hills 3-1 in the final.

   Bloomfield Hills beat Flint Powers Catholic in its opener.

   Notre Dame traveled to Battle Creek on Saturday and earned straight-

 

set wins over Marshall, Temperance Bedford and host Lakeview.

   The Irish travel to Lapeer for a tournament on Saturday, Sept. 19.

   The Irish have reached the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 semifinals in 2019 and 2018. Long-time head coach Betty Wroubel’s team won the Class B championship in 2017.
